The EC24 is the concept that inspired the creation of Langstrath Audio.
At its core is Langstrath Audio’s custom analogue gain cell topography, inspired by Spacecraft-engineering experience of precision control of analogue signals. With this gain cell the EC24 introduces mission-critical repeatability and accuracy into the pro audio world.
The EC24’s extensive functionality is achieved by monitoring the input signal as it passes into the gain cell and splitting it into four independent detector algorithms which are then hierarchically assessed to derive the desired response. This ensures harmonious operation between the different processors and the cleanest audio signal path, maintained completely within the analogue domain.
The EC24 Expander section features a threshold, attack, release and range controls to allow the user to accurately and repeatedly enhance the input to their signal chain.
Comp A is an interpretation of how a text-book compressor should behave. A wide range of attack, ratio and release options allow this section to handle shorter transient passages in a transparent manner.
Comp B derives its side-chain characteristics from three modes inspired by three classic compressor topographies - Optical, Vari-Mu, and Diode bridge. In each of these inspired modes, a control allows you to change the amount of specific character by adjusting the reduction, time constant and release respectively.
The aim being to allow an engineer to work quickly to achieve the sonic character they are looking for.
The limiter features threshold attack and release controls which due to the unique Langstrath Audio control algorithm can produce attack times usually only found in the digital domain.
